Who is Georges St-Pierre
I like to know that if someone is going to teach me how to get fit, they better be the real deal, otherwise why should I listen to them.
I want to believe
Despite what anyone says, deciding to get fit takes great commitment and hard work. Some times you look at home training videos and you can’t help but think that the person giving the lessons is naturally fit and healthy. This in a way puts me off. If I’m going to start an intensive home training workout DVD, especially one like RushFit (never heard of RushFit? Read the RushFit review here) how do you know the person that’s giving the training is worth following?
So, who is Georges St-Pierre
Georges St-Pierre who is often referred to as GSP, is a Canadian mixed martial artist and the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC. St-Pierre is ranked as the No. 1 Welterweight in the world according to Sherdog, MMAWeekly and numerous other publications.
Great but what’s MMA?
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling arts while both standing and on the ground, including boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Karate, Judo and other styles.
GSP is the real deal then?
GSP began training in disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and competed in his first amateur bout at age 16. What makes St-Pierre a good fighter and athlete is his strategic approach. He uses his fitness and draws upon skills he learned through competing in local chess tournaments while growing up in Montreal.
GSP has been crowned Fighter of the Year (in 2009 by Sports Illustrated). He was also the recipient, for the second time, of Sportsnet’s Canadian Athlete of the Year, and was runner-up for the Lional Conacher Award, the first time a MMA fighter has ever been nominated for the award. You have to say, this guy knows his stuff.
Recently GSP has turned his intensive training program into a home workout series called RushFit. So you can see if this style of program is for you check out this RushFit review.
Should we train with Georges St-Pierre?
Having done some martial arts myself (not anywhere near MMA level) I have an appreciation of what it takes to compete in this style of fighting. It’s clear that GSP has put in the hard work to get to where he is now. RushFit really is his personal training program, you can see how much he sweats in the program he is not taking it easy for camera
If you want to get fit and train at home GSP is exactly the sort of person you should follow. He proves that hard work and discipline do indeed pay off.
As Georges St-Pierre said, “you might be fit, but are you RushFit”
Before starting any program you should know what you’re getting into. Read a RushFit review to see if this style of intense workout program is right for you.
